about
B A S A A L T is an offering to the warm, angled light of the west.
First born under the columnar basalt of the Columbia River Gorge, B A S A A L T is now based in the redwoods of Marin County, California.
Each piece is an homage to our grand western home — to all our beloved inlets and valleys and crescents of coast, to the bluebirds and blue whales, and the veins of serpentine that edge this edge of the world.

B A S A A L T’s lineage owes profound gratitude for years of apprenticeship with master silversmith and lapidarist, Jerry Titus, whose metal and stonecutting inheritance comes from master Navajo silversmith, Ben Yazzie, Sr. and the quiet wilds of Arizona.
